You cannot be a peacemaker if you don't feel peace with yourself. Every time you go into a self loathing or negative self talk you loose you ability to be at peace with yourself. Take moment to wrap yourself in a bright warm "blanket" of Gods light and peace, telling yourself that you are of God and therefore able to strive for the best that you can be and then sit in that warm peace as it washes over you. Then you will be able to exude peace to others.

We all encounter situations during the day where we can be a peacemaker. When we see someone we feel is behaving badly we need to remember that situations are not between us and others, but between us and God. Choose to smooth things over or to help another out even if they may have been wrong in their actions. Give others the benefit of the doubt if you don't know the whole situation. Be a peacemaker for it is in the giving that we receive.

How many times a day do we think about things that are negative like "This world is so awful." or " My sister never treats me right." ? These kinds of thoughts will keep us in unrest and we must put them aside. We must replace them with peace making thoughts instead. Think about how beautiful the world is and that we are all here to love one another and be good stewards. Love your sister even though she is acting badly. Think of all of her good traits.

This kind of thinking puts you in a good place and sends loving, peaceful energy out into the space around you. This energy is felt not only by you but by everyone in your presence.

Today's reading took some thought. We must not resist evil. If we push against it, it validates it. It gives it power and goes against the knowledge of there only being one power, good. Wayne says "... bring the spirit of God to all perceived evil and that alone will transform it into good".
When we fight against things it creates a counter force. Gives credence to that which we don't want. The focus needs to remain on the desired outcome and that will disintegrate the problem. We need to always work within the power of good and it will bring light to our lives. "the very presence of light nullifies all the darkness".

Today is to the point. We walk around hoping to be more spiritual human beings. We say things to ourselves like "I wish I felt more spiritual" or if we are feeling very spiritual we might say "Well I'm certainly more spiritual than that person". This is our ego talking.
It's not about feeling spiritual. We are spirit. Period. We may reside within a mortal body and have feelings, but it doesn't matter if we feel it or not. We are spiritual because we are spirits at our center. All we need to do is keep this in our awareness and be who we are.

tapping into power

Today's reading puts forth the idea that God's power doesn't come over us, but rather it is the only power in the universe and we need to tap into it. And that evil occurs when we are not tapped in. That if we can grab hold of this concept then we will always want to tap in so we will not be part of creating evil around us.
Of course unless everyone in the world is tapped in, we will always deal with evil things. There will be less evil though if those of us who realize this will get up every morning and make a commitment to be dialed into to God energy. Just think if everyday just one more person dialed in. And then one more and one more. Pretty soon the high frequency energy would raise greatly and evil would start to diminish.
My own personal belief is that the the evil comes from Satan. But I agree that Satan only has power if we hand it over to him. I believe that if we are connected to God and his power that Satan is powerless and only one power can exist.

Today's reading is short and sweet. God doesn't punish. It is our lack of connection that brings about unwanted or evil things. God doesn't do it to us, we bring it on ourselves.
My personal take on this is when we shut ourselves off from God, Satan has a hay day. We leave ourselves open to his influence and the influence of our own ego.

Today we need to know that God is always there, willing to support and send us what we need if we will just tap into him. The stronger we will connect the stronger we will become. It's that simple. God wants for us to have all that he has. He is there waiting.
I have to wonder sometimes if God feels frustration the same way we do. I know how hard it is to watch my own children making choices that take them away from the divine and struggle so. It is so hard for me to watch and I get frustrated that they just don't, or don't want to see it for themselves. Can you imagine having a whole world full of children and seeing them stray daily? Almost too much to comprehend.
One caution. God always being there doesn't mean we never taste of things that are hard or live forever because we keep asking and taping in. It means that we can have the ability to keep ourselves as spiritually strong as possible and feel blessed at all times. Even in hardship if we will find the all important growth it will bring lives.

love and prayer

Today's reading is one I spend a lot of personal time with. Instead of getting caught in the vicious claws of low energy feelings like hate, and anger towards those who hurt or annoy us in some way, we need to learn to love and pray for them.
We have all had a time when someone directs something negative at us and we have the choice to choose kindness or unkindness. You will find remarkable outcomes if you can respond with love and prayers for these people.
In the morning when I have my morning prayers I pray for all those in the world who are suffering. That they might feel Gods love for them. I also pray for all those who are doing evil that they too will feel Gods love through another person so they will hunger after it and have a softening of their hearts to be able to turn away from their evil doing. How else will they ever have a desire to do good if they are not feeling the love of those around them? I would rather pray to keep someone here on earth as a changed individual than pray that they die just because it is easier to get them out of the way.
Choose love and prayer.

Today's reading is about making a choice to stop trying to solve your problems with just your mortal self. Why struggle along alone when you can stop and tap into the divine at anytime? When you yield your mortal self over to the divine, the field of energy is increased and you make room for spirit.
Wayne relates a story about a woman who is diagnosed with cancer and given only a few months to live. She tells no one and takes herself to the woods of northern Minnesota. There she disconnects from the cancer and connects to the divine. She never goes back to the doctors and is still alive 9 years later.
This connection can be this powerful.

Every part of your body has an energy vibration but not intelligence. Your mind is intelligence and directs the body. Every organ clear down to your cells is created to respond to the divine intelligence that resides within it. The mind controls the whole body that was created by God. Your can direct it with you mind to do God's work.
All things are experienced in your mind. When you see yourself in God's mind you can raise yourself to God's energy field and draw from that energy. The ego is the one who directs the illusion that we are separate from God. We are not. We can draw from God's energy fields at all times. This unifying force is part of the whole universe. All matter, living or not. Keep directing your mind to be in harmony with the divine. When problems arise remember that the intelligence of your mind is attached to God's intelligence and work off of that energy.

Todays reading was about practicing being aware of the spirit in our lives. How to invite this awareness by pondering it's presence around us at all times if we will just bring ourselves to it. Dr. Dyer suggests that when we are in the middle of feeling anxious, out of sorts or afraid, we should stop and ask to feel the spirit of our creator around us. It lies at the center of all things. Even those things that are physical like the building you are in. Did it not start with the mind of the individual who envisioned it? Is that mind not connected to the spiritual being of the person it belongs to? Was it not built by other people who are spiritual beings?
Everything around us resonates with spirit so when you are having a negative experience you can just take a moment to ponder the fact that you are surrounded by the spirit of the creator. Energy that is all loving, all knowing. Draw on that spirit. Bring it to your own awareness. Raise your own energy vibration with this knowledge.

Today we switch gears a bit and talk about our potential. We look in the mirror and see a human being with flaws and limitations. We see what is there instead of looking for what is potentailly there. When we can see beyond the human form in front of us then we will be able to move to places we only dreamed of before.
I suggest that you start to see the spiritual being behind and in the center of your human form. It is there that you can truly progress and become the limitless being you really are. It is in the sight of eternal progression and inviting the spirit of the eternal creator to dwell within us that gives us our wings.
Look in the mirror again. This time envision the loving, spiritual being you want to be. Now connect to your creator and become that person. One step at a time. One day at a time. It's an eternal journey.

energy mind field

Today's reading is about the energy of our mind and our thoughts. When you start to pay attention to the thoughts that are roaming around in your head it can be a bit astonishing. We can be riddled with more negative thoughts than we realize. As with the way we act and speak affects others so do our thoughts. It is amazing how much things change when we get a handle on the commentary that takes place in our heads.
I started paying attention to this a few months ago when I realized that my mind chatter was getting out of hand. I had a thought comment on everything that was going on around me. Thought s an peoples driving skills or what someone else was talking about. Thoughts on peoples appearance or choice of landscaping. It's fine when the thought is complementary but when it is a criticism it does no good for me or them. What makes me superior? If I must have a thought if someone is driving badly then I have tried to change it to a prayer for every one's safety and that the person driving is all right. This way I'm offering support instead of just having a negative opinion.

Love energy

Todays reading is about love energy. Just a s fear can permeate a space so can love. There is nothing better than walking into a space that has been infused with love. The examples that Wanye Dyer uses in the book are two wonderful places, the chapel in Assisi, Italy where St Francis prayed every day and Machu Picchu, Peru. Both of these places can create such a feeling of peace and well being when you are in this space.
I have never had the priviledge to be in either of these places but I have had small experiences of walking through a space and feeling very peaceful. Most often it is unexpected and therefore a true gift.
The lesson here is that if we have spaces and places in our lives that seem to be full of negative or fear energy there is something we can do about it. We can start to change that space with our own energy. Our good and loving energy can change the space which in turn will effect the people that come into our space causing them to feel it and be able to use their own good and loving energy as well. IN no time the whole atmosphere can change around. What an uplifting thought.

Fear Energy

Todays reading is about the energy transmitted through fear. Fear has a way of hanging around in the air and permeating the things around it. You experience this any time you go to a place where awful things have happened. I have experienced this twice in my life. The first time it happened was when I was at Dachau in Germany. I was 17 years old and the air around me in that place was dark and heavy. I actually felt like something had sunk into my body and was weighing me down as I walked through the camp. It was difficult for me and I didn't know at the time how to handle it. It took me a long while to shake it off of me.
The second time I experiences this was at the age of 42 in the tower or spire of the Salisbury Cathedral in England. As I was climbing the spiral staircase I was suddenly overcome with grief. A grief that I had never experienced before. It was so strong that I could go no further. I actually had to descend and could proceed no further. I wept and wept uncontrollably. Something terrible must have happened in that space.
It's very interesting for me to think about these things. It brings home the importance of keeping our own energy light and of a positive influence.

surrounding energy

Today's readings were on personal energy field and surrounding energy field. This is something that is so tangible if you pay attention. There are times when someone or a situation around us becomes negative or upsetting and the entire energy field around us becomes polluted. You can feel and almost taste it. It can become so thick in the air. When this happens it's important to pay attention to what is happening in your own body. To take your own internal pulse and make sure you are staying calm by slow steady breathing and relaxing your muscles. Remove yourself from the situation as quickly as possible and try to avoid these kinds of situations as much as possible.

We also need to remember how much we affect the energy around us and other peoples energy as well. It is our responsibility to keep a positive energy about us by having a countenance of love and respect . We can't get upset about the negative energies around us if we are not being the most that we can be to make sure the energy field is clean and clear.

It's important to be aware of how other peoples energy is effecting us but we have a larger responsibility to make sure that the energy we are sharing is one of a positive nature.

Personal History

We all have a personal history. The important thing to remember is that no matter what has happened to us in the past, it has brought us to where we are and given us the experience we need to move forward. Some of us blame our past for holding us back in the present. Don't get stuch in this kind of cycle. embrace you past and love it rather than curse it. It has made you the person you are today. Now let it go and live today in the space of today with your eye pointed toward the future.

Today's reading was comparing our lives to a boat and it's wake. The wake is what is left following the boat but it doesn't drive the boat. So our past shouldn't drive our lives. We can learn from our past but should always be driven by what we want to create for our future.

Focus on the the things you really want in your life and move forward toward that goal in whatever manner you can today. Even if that step is very small it will still give you motion toward what you want to see happen.

wow, it's been a really long time

I actually forgot I created this blog. How sad is that. I want to share the things that I am reading and my thoughts about them. I always have two books going at the same time. One for sheer pleasure and one to feed my soul. The books I want to talk about here are my soul books. Right now I'm reading "There's A Spiritual Solution To Every Problem" by Wayne Dyer. I've read several of his books and always enjoy them. I needed a boost in this department and I must say that my spirit has been lifted back in place. It is a blessing.

The topic of the section I'm reading now is about avoiding what you don't want. It helps me to keep fresh in my mind the work I need to do with my thoughts and beliefs. I get lazy about it when I stay away from the works that feed my soul.

I hope you (if there are any readers out there) are remembering to feed your soul with nourishing works of writing.

I woke up this morning and the snow was glistening on the ground. There was a soft breeze that would blow the flakes up into the air and they would sparkle like diamonds as they fell back to the ground. What a beautiful gift.
